Today we are sharing the creative inspirations of Audrey Pettit and Kirsty Vittetoe.
Hi everyone! It's Audrey, and I'm so excited to share with you my fall pumpkin project for our third challenge here at LESSology, the doggy bag challenge. I love this time of year. Love everything about it. One of my favorite things to do is decorate my house for the changing seasons and holidays.
This cute pumpkin doggy bag project is a quick and easy way to add some autumn cheer to your home decor, using only basic supplies you probably already have on hand.
All you need is some paint, a few trims and buttons, and a take-out bag from your next dinner out.
To get started, open up your doggy bag so that it stands up by itself. You can use kraft bags, like mine, or a white bag. We'll be painting them, so it doesn't matter. And any size will do. I've done this project with smaller lunch bag sizes, as well as large grocery bag varieties.
Fill the inside of your bag about half-way to two-thirds full with recycled newspaper, bubble wrap, or any leftover packaging material. Twist the top of the bag shut. You don't need any adhesive for this part. Simply twist the bag in your hands until the top is closed and fairly tight.
Paint the bottom, stuffed portion of your bag orange using acrylic paint. Then paint the top, stem portion green or brown, depending upon your preference.
Tie the top shut with twine, tulle, lace, or ribbon. Add a button and a leaf made from patterned paper. I also added green florists wire that I wrapped around a pencil to mimic the pumpkin vine. Finished it off with an autumn-themed tag.
Super quick and easy ! So next time you eat out, be sure to ask for a doggy bag!
Hi, it's Kirsty here, today I am sharing a project made with the good old brown paper bag...
a little gift bag filled with ephemera....
this little gift bag is so easy to make, after stitching up the edges, a little paint and stamping is all you need....
finish it up with your favorite embellishment
for me, I made a bloom out the left-over muslin from my quilt project
so you see, your brown paper bag is not just a lunch sack, come on and get creative, join us at LESSology challenge #3 - The Doggy Bag Challenge
Do you have some fun ideas for your own doggy bag? We would love for you to play along with LESSology Challenge #3: The Doggy Bag. Please leave a little love for our designers. :)
