Hello there! How about one last inspiration for LESSology Challenge #38: Sew Lovely before we leave you to complete your projects? Let's check out design team member Lizzy Hill's inspired project.

Hey there! Sooooo...it's all about sewing stuff.....I have a love-hate relationship with my sewing machine. But I got it out for my card! Sewed around the edges. I even tucked the threads in!!!

Can you see the ticket tucked in there? That was the card that the buttons came on - from my DT mate, Mitra, actually! Recycled...tick! Mind you, the buttons are all 'vintage' as well *winks*
Then I got out a needle & thread & actually sewed a couple of buttons on my card.

There's also some ribbon & some recycled lace doily in there, too. The background has fibre paste over a square stencil, then white paint over a plastic doily that I use as a mask. The 'hello' sentiment was cut on my Silly machine ~ I've added a little embossing powder to give it some punch.

In the centre of the flower I've added another button - removing the shank first, then encircling it with some diamente trim. I reckon that about fills the criteria for this month.

How are YOU going to use the 'sewing' challenge? Can't WAIT to see what you come up with:)
Happy Scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Found this milk glass jar at a second hand store the other day.

It happened to be the ONLY thing I walked out with that day, believe it or not. I sometimes have a case of the pickies!

Honestly I didn't even have a plan of what I was going to use it for. I just really liked it!

After staring at it for a while, I decided it either needed a label or for me to build a little scene on the very flat top.

I opted to go with the more difficult idea of course.

I actually had that green fake grass & trees left over from a previous project my son did for school. The little mushrooms & fairy I picked up at a local greenhouse.

I added in a little hand dyed lace to match the fairy and the spool tassel. The spool tassel idea I found on pinterest although I like hers a whole lot better than mine. But I have a ton of spools so no doubt will try that idea again. ;-)

This is also a great photo to see how I cheated. That Tim Holtz Ornate plate I used was originally flat. I used a dead blow hammer & anvil to get the curved look. Had to fill it in with hot glue to get it to stay. ;-)

And another photo of the whole project again!

Sew Much Fun!

And what you ask will I be using this awesome container for? I need a small spot to stash my pin cushion, a seam ripper and a few other sewing things. I am hoping this jar makes my sewing machine hate me just a little less....

Won't you play along with us here at LESSology for our Sew Lovely challenge?

LESSology Challenge #38: Creative inspiration of Julie Tucker-Wolek

Ready for another round of inspiration for LESSology Challenge #38: Sew Lovely? Let's check out what design team member Julie Tucker-Wolek did with the challenge.

Hi everyone! :)   Julie with you here today to share my take on this month's challenge :)

I was recently at an antique store and found this Wine collection box -- Wine box collection  (hmmmm ... not sure how to say that -- I don't drink, so I am not sure what this box would be officially called! LOL!) ... anyhoo -- it's a wooden box, with a glass top -- and I picked it up for $10.00 :)

At first I thought, what am I going to do with this??? And then it hit me!!! I have been struggling lately with my spools of sewing threads -- because I have another BAD habit at the antique stores I frequent ... when I see a bag full of sewing spool threads ... I BUY THEM!!! Because let's face it ... thread is NOT cheap at the big box stores ...so when I see a bag full of spools at the antique store for $3.00 I grab them!! :)

So here is what I had  ---

a small Rubbermaid box filled to the brim with my threads :)

And here is the wine box I bought from the antique store :)

I was going to paint it PINK (yes, I am OBSESSED with PINK! LOL!!!) .... but the wood was in such good shape, I decided not to touch the finish :)

And here is what I made with it using Bella Blvd.'s Family Forever collection and some Maya Road chipboard pieces :)

And here is the inside of the box ... the new HOME for all my sewing goodies :)

Can't wait to see what you create for this challenge ~~ Julie :)

Have you rummaging through your sewing box looking for items to play along with LESSology Challenge #38: Sew Lovely? How about getting a little inspiration from design team members Kirsty Vittetoe and Yvonne Yam?

Kirsty Vittetoe

My friend just had a new grand baby, she is as cute as a button, and she is my inspiration of the project for this month..... SEW LOVELY!

more reason to hoard on those shopping bags, especially small and cute one like this...

of course the gift bag is to house a little album or I should say Grandma's brag book for my friend!

Hello there! It's Yvonne here to share my take on LESSology Challenge #38: Sew Lovely

The-Gangster-Gang-on-12x12-mixed-media-canvas

If there's one thing I hoard, it's wrapping tissue from all my shopping..*winks*. Even the small pieces are useful to create texture for the background of a canvas. For this particular piece, I didn't have enough to cover the entire canvas, so I added some lace at the bottom. :)

After colouring the background with Derwent Inktense blocks, I created some foliage with The Crafter's Workshop stencils and some light modeling paste. Then I added my photo and embellished with buttons, blooms, pearls and bling.

Hope that you will come join us for LESSology Challenge #38: Sew Lovely! :)
