LESSology Challenge #32: Creative inspiration of Lizzy Hill

 photo Challenge-32-You-hold-the-key-to-my-heart-design-team-projects_zps95cce865.jpg

It's that time of the year...to get your Valentine's Day gifts done. *winks* Let's see what design team member Lizzy Hill created for someone close to her heart....for LESSology Challenge #32: You hold the key to my heart.

Keys and Hearts....such FUN to play with in this month's LESSology challenge! And I just 'had' to create something that is close to my heart:

It's not often we do Male & Hearts, but I thought I'd give it a twirl. The balloons come from a sheet that originally looked like this [one balloon I didn't use is in there for contrast...]
There's a LOT of distress ink on these!!

I've used my old denim skirt & jeans for the 'lollipop' flower, alongside some odd twine, a button I found & of course, the old key. I stamped on the cheesecloth tape - StazOn ink is brill for this:)

A closer look at my balloons & the background, which has been masked & misted a few times 'til I got the effect I was after....the frame I swiped at random with an ink dabber. I didn't want to make it too fancy. My DH is not a 'fancy' type, really:))

The scrabble tiles are also recycled from an old 'magnetic' set...

I hope this gives you a bit of a different idea that you might like to use in our 'You Hold the Key to My Heart' challenge.....I must say, Wally Dog came a close 2nd choice for this project...but SHHHH!!! Don't tell my DH that:):)
Have fun creating ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Welcome to another design team inspiration session. Design team member Mitra Pratt always makes the coolest projects from found stuff. Let's see what she has in store for us this month for LESSology Challenge #32: You hold the key to my heart.

So the other day, I was cleaning off the top of my desk and ran across this bracelet I promised to fix for a friend.

It was ambitious of me to say I'd fix it when I wasn't sure really how to do the knotting that was involved. The beads however were very pretty with little diamonds and I did really want to get it back in one piece.

Of course, one cannot just simply fix a bracelet and not make a fancy-dancy little container for it!

It was re-used metal container to which I added a foot out of a huge reused glass bead, a Tim Holtz clock, and some washi tape to the side. Built up the top with various bits of metal and a pearl jewelry head pin.

Really love how pretty the silver, gold and copper all go together for this little container!  Below is another view of the layers I used. You can also see a bit of the embossed green metal I used to fill the empty gap in the top. The Yuletide Tim Holtz piece is my favorite. Love that word! Sounds so festive!

The reason I used so many mixed metals on my container is because the bracelet has many different kinds of metals! From a shiny silver, antique bronze, to some copper! It's really pretty!

I used a little key, the gem covered button that was previously used to keep the bracelet closed, a gem heart, and a little bead dangle!

The key is inspired by our latest challenge here at LESSology to use a key in your project!

And I am happy to report, she LOVED both the box and bracelet! Hoping you will play along! Fun times!

Hi everyone :)

I am loving this month's challenge! Incorporate a key! :)  Granted my project is a little behind (I created this BEFORE Christmas! LOL!) -- but I had this in my head and had to make it :)

I started out with this -- A "book" box and a key I had from an old necklace I got rid of awhile ago :)

I tore out the top of the book box :)

And this is what I made with it :)

I made this for one of my centerpieces for our Christmas Eve dinner tables (we have a lot of family over on Christmas Eve and have 3 tables set up to seat everyone).

Can't wait to see what you all create for this challenge!! ~Julie :)

Little key charms, old house keys, keys that no longer unlock something....well use them to play along with LESSology Challenge #32: You hold the key to my heart. Let's check out what design team member Kirsty Vittetoe and Yvonne Yam came up with...

Kirsty Vittetoe

Happy 2014 to all, here's my project for our first challenge in 2014 - You hold the key to my heart!

Recycled items

1. Some ugly tequila bottle I found in the kitchen (who is drinking? not me!)
2. Ribbons from gift wrap
3. Key detached from an old project (use better adhesive next time!)

front

back - the white ribbon looks quite pretty after I stained it with brown mist

I don't know what I am going to use this for, but I think sending a bottle of glitters in a pretty pixie dust bottle to a crafty friend is a lovely thing to do!

Come join in the fun!

Hello there! It's Yvonne here to share my creative take on LESSology Challenge #32: You hold the key to my heart.

I created a glittered dollhouse on canvas for my niece. :)

I started with an old dollhouse toy which I spray painted in silver...

Then I covered it with glitter...and added my key charm to the door...

I added a photo of my niece and gave her windows some vintage lace curtains...*winks*
