Hi there! I thought I'd do a LO for a change!

I've incorporated a number of these little cardstock clock faces - this one has a VERY old rub on flower topped with a button on it....I dug DEEP in my stash for these!!!

I've upcycled a bit of hessian [burlap] for behind my photo.....& I've got lots of metal - going for a 'girly grunge' look....the background on the right is black gesso, then heat embossed with a world map stamp....cos the photo of these girls was taken while they were travelling OS.

Upcycled bits of metal thingies...

& also button...the key has washi covered card stock, punched out in a heart shape that fitted. Bit of luck, that!

And my biggest recycled element...that crocheted doily up top & down bottom, that I've cut up! I really liked the 'net' quality it gave my page! You can see the other metal buttons like dot points for my journaling, bottom left, too:)

Can't wait to see what YOU create for this challenge...
Thanks for looking ~ & happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Are you up for beautifying something old? Check out what design team member Mitra Pratt altered this month for LESSology Challenge #44: Tick Tock.

My thoughts are already turning towards spring and we're only one month into winter! I'm thinking of flowers and honey bees!

You might be wondering what this odd contraption is. Believe it or not, I recall my Dad using this smoker when I was a kid when he was moving the honey bee hives around. Recently he passed it to me for some altering vs. throwing it out.

I wanted to soften the rusty metal by adding flowers, a modge podged image, and a really cool metal bee & clock.

Hello there everyone, Here are  some more ideas of how to recycle with paper crafting.
This month, as you probably have seen, our challenge is Tick-Tock....use a clockface on a project.
It made me think of how fast time is passing by, and before you know it, the kids are all grown up..
So this is what inspired me, as my son turned 20 just a few days ago.. to make a LO using pictures of him, one as little(4)and one when he was 18

I recycled a golden colour book cover label, and stamped it with white acrylic paint and I also used some peel from Birch bark
and some of this as well...
a big piece of this thin  black cardboard cover

....and here is my  finished page....
Ok so you might be right... I went a bit OTT not using only one clockface but on the background paper, stamp and as bling as well

and here we have some more recycled stuff... these little cardboard circles of different sizes are form the fireworks. I picked them up the day after New years eve' when cleaning up the used fireworks on the ground.

and here are some more clockfaces...

...a mixs of wooden ones, metall, and chipboard

Are you ready for a new challenge? and have you got something with  a clockface on? well if you do, come on and join in on the fun...if you don't, be creative...make your on clock face  and we would love to see what you all are creating for LESSology Challenge #44: Tick Tock.

Bye for now, and stay tuned in for some more clockface projects from the Design Team here at LESSology.

Is your head spinning with ideas for LESSology Challenge #44: Tick Tock? How about a little creative inspiration from design team member Yvonne Yam?

I wanted to create a travel-inspired mixed media canvas this month since I enjoy travelling so much. :)

I started with a 6x6 mixed media canvas panel which I covered with a vintage patterned paper and leftover burlap. I used disposable chopsticks and lace for added texture.

I used The Crafter's Workshop stencil with Golden Glass Bead to create subtle circular shapes to emulate background clock faces. Then I used some Faber Castell gelatos to define them and provide a backdrop for my embellishment cluster.

I tucked my wood clock face embellishment along with some blooms, pearls and an old button and I'm all done! What do you think?
