Hullo my scrappy friends! This month's LESSology challenge is all about using CUPCAKES....soooo....I got hold of these 'real' ones from my Mum....& used them as backing paper as well as to hold my journaling!

Yes, on the flip side of that 'pretend' cup cake is my journaling. And that 'interesting' design on the cup cake? Simply an old bit of used A4 copy paper. I WAS going to use it as the template, but thought the black & white with a splash of gold embossing would work, well - a TREAT!!! I also used a pile of old buttons:

My journaling...it's SOOO good that Brooke has gotten through this illness so well:):) This was a photo from 2013:

 And my whole page!

Got a bit carried away with the gold....oh, & I threw some ric rac into the mix as well!
Cup Cakes are such a COOL idea for a challenge, I reckon - & of course, you can do any sort of project for our LESSOLOGY challenge - just use at least one up or recycled element:)

Hope you can join us this month ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

LESSology Challenge #47: Creative inspiration of Mitra Pratt

 photo Challenge-47-Lets-have-a-cupcake-design-team-projects_zps8pvrayaf.jpg

Design team member Mitra Pratt shares a fun way to use those cupcake liners for LESSology Challenge #47: Let's have a cupcake!. :)

 photo Design-team-member-Mitra_zpse5c48df0.jpg

Ever have those cupcake wrappers that get all icky as they are the one on the outside of the bunch? I am here to tell you don't toss them! Use alcohol ink on them! Love the color I got on mine!

It made a great base for the cupcake graphic I used and those pretty Prima flowers. And since the challenge here at LESSology is to use a cupcake on your project, it makes sense to me! Why not also use the wrapper!

I also used a couple pieces of cardboard that came in a package with my curtains & glued them together to make a heavy base for my card. See, Mum's Day is rapidly approaching and I wanted to make a cool gift card holder. I also wanted it all to match a previous box I made from THE CUTTING CAFE vending machine file. If you look really hard, you might see what I tucked in there for my Mom....but shhhh, don't tell her!

Hope Mom enjoys her sweet treat as much as I am loving those sparkle green hearts and those gold letters!

Hope you get a chance to play along with us!

LESSology Challenge #47: Creative inspiration of Tone-Lill Angelskår

 photo Challenge-47-Lets-have-a-cupcake-design-team-projects_zps8pvrayaf.jpg

Today's inspiration comes from design team member Tone-Lill Angelskår. Curious to find out what she came up with for LESSology Challenge #47: Let's have a cupcake! ? Read on....:)

 photo Design-team-member-Tone-Lill_zpsc4fe841d.jpg

Hello there, it is Tone-Lill here today with a mini album I made for our new May Challenge  here at LESSology #47: Let's have a cupcake, and it is to incorporate  cupcake(s) on your project, and please remember  to use at least one upcycled item on your creations

Here are my upcycled items, an old (but never used ;) Recipe book/album, so this was the perfect time to use it and give it a new life ;) and some used cupcake wrapping paper and ribbon.

On the front cover I used fussy cut cupcakes from the wrapping paper...

....and the whole inside of  the  front cover had a makeover  with the cupcake paper too

the girls had loads of fun mixing and filling  the cupcake trays

here they are ready for baking...
....in the cupcake baker....
...now we just have to wait for them to bake....

here is another upcycled item.. a paperbag to keep a journaling tag and a photo of the icing..yummi!!!

and the paperbag was used for pictures on both sides
(as the good environmentalist I am lol ;)

and some more of  the  upcycled pink wrapping ribbon

oh yes...as you can see I keep finding more item for upcycling, like this cardboard that came with some cork material stickers I have also used making this album

I hope you have enjoyed my little "show and tell" album and  if you are a cupcake lover  your self, this is the right place for you to join in on a fun challenge this month and we love to see your
creative cupcake project :)

LESSology Challenge #47: Creative inspiration of Yvonne Yam

 photo Challenge-47-Lets-have-a-cupcake-design-team-projects_zps8pvrayaf.jpg

Ready for a week of yummy cupcake inspiration? Let's check out what design team member Yvonne Yam came up with for LESSology Challenge #47: Let's have a cupcake!

Yvonne Yam photo Design-team-member-Yvonne.gif

I love to make my own trinket pins so I thought it would be cute to make a little cupcake trinket pin cushion for my pins. :)

It's such a fun and easy project!

I started with this firm packaging sponge that could fit inside my silicone cupcake mould. I shaped the edges with a scissors.

I wrapped the sponge in a light brown remnant piece of cloth to serve as the "cupcake", then hot-glued the pearls along the circumference. I added some vintage lace trim to cover up the glue marks, then added a ribbon bloom and a resin bloom for the "topping".  I finished with some trinket pins that I made along with some Maya Road leaf pins.

My mum loves this idea and will be teaching her kids at school how to make this cupcake trinket pin cushion. It would make such a sweet and non-fattening gift, eh? *winks*
