Hello there friends! Hope you've been inspired by the design team's takes on LESSology Challenge #55: Pretty Tassels so far. How about one more inspiration from design team member Lizzy Hill?

Now, here's one to stretch your creativity!
Do you have tassels hanging around? Now, keep your minds clean;)
Cos that's our LESSOLOGY CHALLENGE this month:)
I don't. Not even any old ones from curtains. But I DID find
a stamp that was a tassel one. Who knew??!!! I didn't 'til I looked!

AND Anna U had made me some cute little hearts with some trailing cotton
ends...so I cut them, tucked 'em up & figured they looked like a tassel.
I did the same with the crochet circle I used, too.
Can you see that ripped bit of a button card? Recycled element...

...as are the buttons, & the 'happy birthday'. Pulled off an old card;)

I've popped rows of Holtz tissue tape between each row of stamped tassles on
the background. We would LOVE you to show us what you can come up with for our
Tassel challenge at LESSology this month!!
Happy Scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

LESSology Challenge #55: Creative inspiration of Mitra Pratt

Have you been rummaging your stash for a pretty tassel or two to play along with LESSology Challenge #55: Pretty Tassels? How about checking out what design team member Mitra Pratt created?

Totally dig how an upcycled curtain tie back complete with tassel, used wooden heart frame, and a couple of vintage hankies came together to make a cool angel! I also ventured into something new...painting on glass! The tassel is for our current challenge here at LESSology! Hope you get a chance to play along! All this upcycling is really quite addicting!

That little shimmery angel head used to be a light bulb. I really had been trying to find a spray paint that was opalescent and was coming up short.

I did find a glass paint that had that shimmer I wanted so I painted the light bulb and baked it using the instructions on the bottle. I'm loving the color! I did add a little gold spray paint to match the frame. And to think I was just going to throw out that little bulb...

Check out the texture on that frame.

I embossed a little foil tape, added it to my frame and then painted over it. Really love that look!

You can see that behind the angel is some material. Since I cut the hankie in half, I was able to use the other half as a backing on the frame. The wings are a wood applique I purchased from Wood & What-Knots of Character. They got inked up and then i added some glitter! The wings were the only new thing I used besides those Petaloo flowers. Love Petaloo flowers and their velvet leaves!

Loving this piece! Hope you get a chance to make something & hang with us at LESSology!

LESSology Challenge #55: Creative inspiration of Yvonne Yam

 photo Challenge-55-Pretty-Tassels-design-team-projects_zpsomxtzwyk.jpg

Tassels are all the rage now....in bags, clothing, accessories and even home decor. Let's check out how design team member Yvonne Yam incorporated a pretty tassel on her project for LESSology Challenge #55: Pretty Tassels

Shhhh....don't tell on me...but I'm one of those tassel collectors. I have them in all the different materials like suede and leather. *winks*

I started this mixed media canvas by adhering remnant bits of lace and wrapping tissue to create a textured background. Then I glued on the blooms and leaves. After that, I covered the whole canvas with a light wash of gesso before adding mists.

Then I added finishing touches like the pearls and bling.

My tassel was originally pink suede.....I misted it to match the lilac hues on this mixed media canvas.
