LESSology Challenge #53: Creative inspiration of Tone-Lill Angelskå

Hello altered enthusiasts! There are so many things you can upcycle to play along with LESSology Challenge #53: Dress Form. Shall we see how design team member Tone-Lill Angelskå got creative?

Hello Friends from around the world. The calendar shows November already, and some stores have started their Christmas displays and product sales weeks ago... here at LESSology we just celebrate November with a Dress Form challenge where you are free to decorate anything you like...just be creative with at least one upcycled item.

The upcycled items I have used are corrugated cardboard, millners net, cardboard caps from firework display, and a mesh bottle sleeve.

I made  a "ladies" birthday tag using sewing items since the theme it is all about dress form this month.

I just used the layers method, thinking more is less in this case ;)

Buttons are a must with a dress..

and maybe you can spot the upcycled cardboard circle, made to look like a button too ...

.....and the millners net has been turned in to  be a part of the dress

I love making quick cards or tags, as it challenges me to be creative just in that instant of moment...

LESSology Challenge #52: Creative inspiration of Tone-Lill Angelskår

Are you daydreaming about your last beach vacation? Or are you one of those lucky ones who lives by the beach? Let's see what design team member Tone-Lill Angelskår came up with for LESSology Challenge #52: Beachfront Property.

Hello there everyone :) It is October 7th and it is me, Tone-Lill, who has the  honour 

of hosting the blogpost today here at LESSology. Our October Challenge #52 is called Beachfront Property and it is to Incorporate elements associated with A Beach on you project together with at least one upcycled item.

Mine this time, are the sea shells I picked up from our local beach this summer. Yes... we do have beaches in Norway ;) .There are 2 small sandy ones( nothing like Cornwall or Florida lol ) only 5 min drive from where I live. One of them I can see from my bedroom window, but this year it

has been far too cold ( or at least for me) to jump in.

I made a shadow box card for this challenge, possibly inspired more by the Cornish coast

than the Norwegian.....

... and it gave me the opportunity to use the seashells.

adding some metal charms as well....

I love this paper line and I cut it to look like the seagull is resting on the side panel.

I did some stamping too, using a brickwall stamp, making a background on the inside

sorry about the Norwegian txt, but it is a typical Norwegian expression and it says:  Magic you find in the little everyday moments

These papers too I love, as they have the weathered look and are perfect for seaside/beach theme

LESSology Challenge #51: Creative inspiration of Tone-Lill Angelskår

Hello there LESSology friends! Are you ready for another round of awesome creative inspiration? Check out what design team member Tone-Lill Angelskår created for LESSology Challenge #51: It's reading time!. 

Hi there, it is me, Tone-Lill, who has the privilege today to show you what I made for our challenge #51 It's reading time, where it is to use a book on your project together with at least one upcycled item.

It must be 2 years ago my best friend gave this Dylusion Creative Journal, and it has been waiting for

me ever since to start being creative and take it into use. So here I had the opportunity to start my AJ journey..

Here is the front cover of the book and my upcycling item(s) I wasn't sure if I would use them both or just one of the plastic covers to create a shallow box on the front  of the book to keep little metal charms.

Here are some more little bits and bobs I thought I might would use, including the plastic cover from the Prima tiles, and I guess that means some more upcycling too.

After I had glued on all the embellishments, bits and bobs onto the front cover( which I forgot to take a picture of),  I took a roll of aluminium "tinfoil" tape and carefully started to stick it on, covering the whole front page while pressing and pushing the tinfoil into every little dent and contour. When finished, you can  now see all the silhouettes around the embellishments.

After adding some more blings, sticking to silver and metalic colours, this is what my AJ book cover looks like when finished.

The upcycled plastic cover was glued on upside down to serve as a small box for little metal charms, some of them I have got from my friend who gave me the AJ book. These lovely little white and shiny flowers are also a gift  from a friend, and they were perfect for this challenge :)

The contours really comes out from under the tinfoil tape.

The skull got 2 glass beads for eyes, and it looks pretty cool with its little crown.

This is how I got inspired to use a book for this challenge, and it has endless ways of how you want to interpret the challenge. Dig out some fun stuff to upcycle, incorporate a book on your project and come and surprise  us with your finished creation, we love to see what you have come up with :)

LESSology Challenge #50: Creative inspiration of Tone-Lill Angelskår

Ready for another round of zipper-inspired projects? Let's see what design team member Tone-Lill Angelskår came up with for LESSology Challenge #50: Zip me up! 

Hello There!In case you have missed it, our August #50 challenge is called ZIP ME UP!....and you can be as creative as you like, using a Zipper in any possible way, together with at least one upcycled item.

I forgot to take a picture of my upcycling items before I started,but it is an old  red zipper, a food-waste bag for recycling bio-waste and a piece of  material from an old pair of jeans.The jeans material is used to reinforce the opening ( the dark line on the right side ) where I have made a pocket on the outside of the card to keep photos and other memorobilias

 I folded the bag in to 3 sections, only sewing the zipper on to the 

top and middle part, leaving the bottom part to be folded inwards.

 I cut off the top of the bottom section of the bag,
 creating pockets on both sides for tags.

I made 2 big pullout tags (to the right) for more photos which are kept in the outside pocket, and there was room for a  #8 manila tag to be pulled out from the top of this front side panel.

and the last pullout tag  was a big photo and it slides all the way into a large pocket in the paperbag (you can see the folding line on it from where the "bag-card"  folds when zipped up)

This is the inside when finished, using all sorts of leftover papers with stamping,  acrylic paints, plasterboard glassfiber tape, and washi tape, a mix of blings and can ring pull.

The card is made for a neighbour's 50th

anniversary, so the text is in Norwegian.

I have some  old Prima Transparencies, so I did some stamping on a leftover piece from it, for a see- through effect of the  tag underneath.

I added a small envelope onto the back side  pocket

..and here  is the opposite front and back  on the tags.Because of the tight stiching it wasn't room in the pockets to add any extra hight on to the tags, which meant I had to keep them both sort of  flat with no room for embellishments .

LESSology Challenge #49: Creative inspiration of Tone-Lill Angelskår

Today's creative inspiration for LESSology Challenge #49: Woodgrain is from design team member Tone-Lill Angelskår. Let's check out what she came up with....

Hello and Happy Wednesday :) You have probably noticed that our new challenge is up, our July #49 and it is Woodgrain we would like to see on your project. Please remember to use at least one upcycled item and it would be nice if you could point it out for us as it might not be easy to spot.

I have used (as you can see on the picture below) a wooden 

metre-mesure, jamtart tin and sizoweb leftovers from Christmas.

I used a  white #8 manila tag as a base and several different diecuts, doilies, bling and flowers with the meter measure to make a "Bottle-Tag" for a "bubbly" present for a 50th Wedding Anniversary ;)

I broke off the metre measure where the 50 cm was in centerand used that for the 50th Wedding Anniversary. As you can see, the sentiment is in Norwegian with a circle around  the "50".

A copy of the original wedding photo was fitted to the bottom of the tin, which work as a photoframe.
